Nội dung khoá học / Course content (12 bài)

  1. The Kickoff Meeting · Cuộc họp khởi động dự án
Alex, the project manager, opens the kickoff for a new order-tracking system. Sponsor Sarah and team lead Mai are in the room. Learn the English that sets a project up well: objectives, roles, ground rules, and deadlines that are actually specific.
  2. The Weekly Status Meeting · Cuộc họp tiến độ hằng tuần
Team lead Mai reports progress to Alex and Sarah: development is fine, testing is slipping. Learn to report status the professional way (condition, cause, next step) without hiding bad news behind soft words.
  3. Pushing Back on Scope Creep · Từ chối khéo khi phạm vi phình to
Client David asks for 'just one more screen' in the middle of the project. Learn to protect the scope without damaging the relationship: acknowledge, assess the impact, and route the request through change control.
  4. Reading Your Stakeholders · Thấu hiểu các bên liên quan
Alex and Mai map the people around the project: who has power, who has interest, and who is quietly worried. Learn the English of stakeholder analysis, and why listening early prevents resistance later.
  5. Breaking Down the Work · Phân rã công việc
Alex and Mai turn a big scope into work packages, spot dependencies and constraints, and write down their assumptions. Learn the planning vocabulary every PMP candidate, and every real planner, lives on.
  6. Negotiating the Deadline · Đàm phán thời hạn
Sponsor Sarah asks Alex to deliver four weeks earlier. Learn to negotiate schedules like a professional: name the trade-off, present options with numbers, and push back on dangerous shortcuts, respectfully.
  7. Reporting the Numbers · Báo cáo bằng con số
Sarah asks the hardest simple question in project management: 'Where are we against the plan?' Learn to answer with earned-value language (progress, variance, burn rate, forecast) and to pair every bad number with a corrective action.
  8. Escalating Without Burning Bridges · Chuyển vấn đề lên cấp trên mà không làm mất lòng
The test environment has been down for five days and the vendor's support channel is exhausted. Alex escalates to Sarah: briefly, with evidence, and with one clear ask. Learn the C1-level art of asking for help so that it raises your credibility instead of lowering it.
  9. The Risk Workshop · Phiên rà soát rủi ro
Alex facilitates a risk workshop with Mai and vendor Raj: naming risks precisely, scoring probability and impact, assigning owners and triggers. Learn the vocabulary that separates 'hopefully it won't happen' from professional risk management.
  10. The Contractor Dispute · Tranh chấp với nhà thầu
Vendor Raj is frustrated: extra requests keep arriving and his invoice is stuck. Alex defuses the dispute by going back to the contract: the statement of work, formal change orders, and prompt sign-off. Learn to negotiate firmly while keeping the partnership healthy.
  11. The Handover · Bàn giao
Go-live is close. Alex walks client David and team lead Mai through the punch list, warranty terms, and training before formal acceptance. Learn the English of finishing well, because how you hand over is how you are remembered.
  12. Lessons Learned · Bài học kinh nghiệm
The last meeting of the project: Alex runs the lessons-learned session and closes the project properly: contracts, resources, final report. Learn to review honestly without blame, and to end a project the way professionals do: with knowledge captured and the team recognized.
